6.Most Cats Are Lactose Intolerant

Well, this may come as a big surprise to many, but it is true that most cats are lactose intolerant. Many pet health professionals suggest people not to give milk to cats at all. Cats miss an enzyme that aids in the digestion of lactose. When a cat drinks a lot of milk, lactose remains undigested in stomach, ferments, and causes bloating and diarrhea before it escapes out. Kitten can digest lactose, but as soon as they become adults, that digestive enzyme goes missing. Since milk is high in fat, it also increases a cat's weight over a period.
